What To Expect
The Booking Process
Upon receiving your enquiry, we will contact you to discuss your requirements and will tailor a package to suit. Like most wedding providers, we require a 20% deposit in order to secure a booking, with the balance due 4-5 weeks before your wedding.
On The Day
Your wedding piper will arrive at the venue approximately one hour before the ceremony to welcome your guests, usually playing a selection of traditional music. The piper will then play the bride down the aisle, usually to a pre-arranged piece of music which we'll have agreed during the booking process. After the ceremony, your piper will play as you leave the wedding venue. Again, we can discuss song/music choices in advance.
On to the wedding breakfast and there are various ways to incorprate your wedding piper, depending on the venue and your own personal choices. Ultimately, we feel that you should have the final say and we'll work around your plans, but it is most common for a piper to play in the top table, then pipe the Bride and Groom to the cake cutting ceremony and then to their seats. We feel, however, that the most exciting entrance is to introduce the Bride and Groom, who would then be played to their seats, with the piper finishing opposite them at the top table. The Bride would then present the piper with a dram, whereupon he would toast the happy couple before playing back out.
Your Piper's Attire
At Bagpiper Online, we do offer a choice of uniform, but we feel that full Highland dress (big, fluffy hat) has the best impact and our pipers will appear in this uniform unless otherwise asked. If you would like a more reserved look, please let us know and we'll make sure your wedding piper arrives in jacket, shirt and tie.
The Extra Mile
Special Requests
If you have a special song or tune you'd like us to include, we'll do our best to accommodate your requirements. All we ask is that you give us as much notice as possible and, where we can, we'll gladly incorporate that favourite tune to help make your day all the more memorable.
Optional Extras
In addition to our World Class pipers, we can provide Highland Dancers and Pipe Bands to perform at your wedding reception. Please contact us for prices and availability.
Complete Commitment
We know your wedding day is the most important day of your life and deserves our full attention and commitment. When you hire one of our wedding pipers, we guarantee that he/she will not accept any other bookings on the afternoon of your wedding and, where you don't require his/her services for your wedding reception, we will only accept a separate, evening booking where the timescales involved will have absolutely no impact on your booking.
